Springborg Announces QLD's New Mental Health Commissioner

The Queensland Government has appointed a new independent behavioral health commissioner.

Queensland doctor Lesley van Schoubroeck has been heavily involved in the sector in Western Australia.

Health Minister Lawrence Springborg says the Commission will start next month to develop a new behavioral health strategy.

"The Mental Health Commissioner is a new statutory position and an independent position and will be supported by a lean, focused, support outfit, which will transition across from the central agency of health," he said.
